our search for a pumpkin...

On Saturday, we decided to go get pumpkins. First, we went to Wheeler farm, which had a ridiculously priced deal for a maze, hay ride, and "free" tiny pumpkin. So, after seeing the roosters (which Jackson loved since had just read about some in a book from the library) we went to Gardner Village...  which was AMazing. They had this entire witch/halloween festival going on... we had a lot of fun walking around, but unfortunately because that was going on the pumpkin patch was closed until 6. Finally, we just went back to where we always went when we lived in South Jordan (TONS of pumpkins to choose from). It was a lot of fun!

These witches were so great! Jackson and Olivia were fascinated by them.

They had big witches all over... the kids could do a scavenger hunt for them and get a .39 cookie at the end, but we didn't do it while we were there.
Jackson LOVED these tractors

Best smile I could get.

The look on Jackson's face is priceless.
Again, priceless.

One picture taken of our family. Zero kids looking at the camera.

I'm so glad when daddy comes home...

Jackson waiting for Mark to come home to give him his dinner before he heads off to his Master's class.

Mark was going to just drive up and grab his dinner... but who can resist this cute boy?

A little play time...

again...

and again... "one more time!"

Have fun! See ya later! Love you!

Olivia: 6 months

At 6 months you are just as sweet, loveable, and cuddly as you were the last 5 months.
Your not as great of a sleeper as you used to be... and sleep training is in your near future so mom can get some much needed sleep.
You do NOT like being left in a room by yourself or when mom or dad leave the room you're in. You give smiles to everyone you come in contact with.
You've been a little fussier than usual because you are teething and are constantly biting your lower lip.
You reach for everything you possibly can... as well as put everything in your mouth.
Since about 5 1/2 mo. you have been scooting everywhere... although if the object of your desire is too far away, then you get frustrated and look for mom or dad for help.
You're not that into baby food or rice cereal yet... you just don't know what to do with it.
You are SO aware of people and will just stare into our eyes and communicate to us by holding our faces... it's so darn cute.

Your favorite toy is any paper product... basically anything that crinkles.
We love you more every day :-)

what to do on a cold, rainy day...

stay warm inside in fuzzy pj's

play outside in the rain (if your 2 and you don't mind getting wet and being out in the cold)

...warm up with grilled cheese sandwiches and hot chocolate...
and... have tons of fun giggling, making silly faces and taking lots of pictures...

f a l l

My brown eyed boy and blue eyed girl... Olivia just wasn't feeling like smiling... teething:(. but still cute as a button:)

great grandparents + other random pics

amazingly enough, this is the best picture that was taken with my grandparents. Neither of the kids were smiling or looking at the camera. Oh well, at least their cute (all 4 of them, that is:))

First picture taken... pretty sure this was the reason why it all went downhill after this kiss (a DAILY occurance... a little too much loving, followed by crying)

Hiking the Y

Put on daddy's shoes and socks all by himself.

just bein' her usual happy, cute self.

California Trip

My mom and I took a girls trip (Olivia, my mom and I) to California in August (yes, in August...I'm very on top of things around here). It was a much needed trip and we had a lot of fun gabbing, laughing, spending time in the wonderful California weather, of course lots of time at the beach, time with the fam, eating, gabbing, eating and oh yeah, lots of gabbing;0.

4 generations...

... got to visit these 2... who by the way, live within minutes of the beach... jealous? me? of course NOT!

First time at the beach and seeing aunt kristen and uncle mitchell.

always have to get together with these fabulous girls... l.o.v.e them.
