Takes Me Back

Yesterday Jackson and I were taking a walk (as we often do since until Mark gets home we have no car) and I was soaking in the sun and the nice weather because here in Utah the weather is supposed to change tonight and become cold for the next week. I could hear the familiar suburban sound of a lawn mower and in the air it smelled of freshly cut grass. Those two things remind me SO much of my childhood during the summer. My brother, Mitchell and I would play outside (bikes, chalk, pretend games, running through sprinklers, etc., etc.) ALL day long sometimes until the street lights came on and my mom said it was time for bed (we would only go inside for the essentials... mainly, food=)). I've just been thinking about how wonderful my childhood was and thinking about how I really want to give that to my kids so one day Jackson can look back on his childhood and have it bring a smile to his face=).

What Do We Do With Empty Diaper Boxes?

Chew on them of course!

Jackson just loves, loves, LOVES his dad! Every day when Mark comes home from work, Jackson crawls as fast as he can to him and lifts his arms for Mark to pick him up. Mark is the best dad EVER. Priceless. Love them.

This Morning...

Jackson and I went to the park and I took some cute pictures of him. He wasn't in a very smiley mood, but at least he gave me a "closed mouth" smile and looked at the camera (the cutest one is our new picture for our blog). It was PERFECT weather outside... I'm sure going to miss summer!!

Yesterday we went to the Salt Lake Bee's game... which was SO much fun! My new favorite place to sit is on the grass... we moved to the grass after sitting for about 5 minutes in our seats. It's wonderful... you can lie out in the sun and your kids can run around (or in Jackson's case crawl around and do face plants down the slope we were sitting on).

Grandma and Grandpa Bevans

In August Mark's parents came to Utah and visited family and friends out here... and spoiled Jackson with new clothes and an awesome new toy that he loves (in fact Mark's mom is fabulous at spoiling Jackson (and all of her 20 plus grandchildren) with lots of new clothes... which we L O V E... he is a very well dressed little boy thanks to his Grandma Bevans). Also, my sister-in-law Alicia graduated from BYU (yay!).

(Jackson on his new toy... this kid is definitely bound to be a sports guy)

Speaking of Jackson... for the past couple of weeks Jackson has been standing up on everything... which of course equals a lot of falling as well. But, he loves crawling around, getting into EVERYTHING he shouldn't, and standing up on anything he possibly can.

Unfortunately, he tries to stand up in the bathtub too... which now is always a constant battle of him trying to stand and me trying to get him to sit... I need one of those bath thingys.

My Gorgeous Mom

I know this is random, but I was looking through some pictures and found these from a photobook I did for her and Robert a couple months ago. Isn't she just beautiful and such a cute little girl? I LOVE looking at pictures of my mom back when she was a kid/teenager.

Anyway, a quick update... there have been lots of things going on lately. Mark and I had our 4th anniversary on August 20th (yay!:))... right in the middle of Mark starting a new school year at a new school in a new school disctrict... Park City!! He now has to commute an hour each way... poor guy. But, his year is going well so far (no surprise there, he is the MOST amazing teacher ever!), and Jackson and I got sick... AGAIN. My body is just falling apart from my lack of sleep for 8 1/2 months. Jackson's lasted for about 3 days, mine for over 2 weeks (with a fever). However, we are FINALLY well in our house again and things are starting to go back to normal. Well, semi-normal... we are going to be attempting to sell our condo soon which is pretty scary, especially in today's market, but hopefully it will go well and sell quickly!:)
