bubbles, bubbles everywhere and not a drop to drink

... name that movie... (willy wonka is definitely the most quoted movie around here... the original (and by far the best one in our opinion) of course).

Today was one of THOSE days... or at least the end of the day made it so. I was quickly trying to scramble up some dinner before the next scream, request, or "I want a cookie. I want a party... ME. ME. ME. NOW. NOW. NOW. I. I. I....." came up (name that movie? last one, promise. (Hook, the second most quoted movie in our house... well this one's mainly just me. Yes, I'm a nerd at heart.)Of course, this was short lived when Jackson started screaming, "LOOK WHAT OLIVIA's DOING!!" I peek my head around the corner expecting to see her with an armful of Jackson's beloved pirate toys, but instead I see the newly bought massive Dawn Soap being poured out on the carpet and squished in with Olivia's busy, trouble-making hands.

I pretty much lost it. Although while I was losing it, I had a very brief thought of getting my camera. But, as soon as the thought came, it left and was overcome with the overwhelming frustration of never getting anything done... and everything always feeling constantly chaotic and crazy all. the. time (please tell me it isn't just me). I've been in a frazzled-crazy lady kind of rut lately. I picked up Olivia (covered in sticky, blue Dawn soap), washed her off and placed her in her room and closed the door while she screamed and cried in protest. I screamed asked Jackson to please play with his sister, while I attempted to clean up the utter disaster on my family room carpet... on my rented family room carpet nonetheless.

Let's just say that even my mom's steamer/wet vacuum could not get it up... and there were soapy bubbles EVERYWHERE, and the carpet is STILL soaked in soap.

Also, while washing the many towels I used to mop up all the soap, soap started coming up from the basement drain of our very old house. I ran over twice to check to see if our neighbors had soap in their basement... but they never answered, so we can only hope that they do not. UGH. Who knew soap (and little one year old girl... who makes anything BUT little messes) could cause so much trouble!?.

Professionals are coming tomorrow... don't even want to think of how much it's going to cost.
